In love with the past
In love with what once was
In love with the idea of what could have been
Had they walked the same path together
A crossroad separated them
for many years & many miles
Eventually their paths reconnected
They find themselves back on the same road
Only this time they are on opposite sides
& not holding hands
A wishful kiss
Only a wish
For one of them walks hand in hand
With the love that came in
when no hope was left in a broken heart
Paths of Life

Tugs the heart-strings, this one. Ouch! (In a tender, sorta good way..)

This is really good, RoSy. So many people believe there is one true love but we actually love many people along the way – and of course the key is if two are willing to commit to each other. Your poem reminds me of the song “Bring in the Clowns” – I think that is the correct title.
