Hi Peeps –
Hope you all had a fun-filled weekend!
On Friday hubby & I took the girls to a haunted house.
It was their first ever experience.
Although a bit creepy – it wasn’t scary (says me).
I found it to be age appropriate.
I think people think it’s too traumatizing &
only advise teens or adults go.
But – c’mon – I think real life is scarier.
A friend of mine suggested this place.
It was a historic buiding over by the lake front.
It’s run by a local teen task force – kids ages 13-18.
The 1st floor was set up with a few themed rooms
& some ghostly guests.
The 2nd floor was a pitch black maze
with a few haunted rooms inbetween.
I was chosen to be the lead in our group. Surprise, surprise!
Victoria was behind me – hanging like a belt on my waist.
And – hubby & Alexandria were behind us.
Going through the maze was an adventure.
I tried opening my eyes wide -
thinking that I could see better & get around.
But – that didn’t work.
I know – you’re laughing at that. But – that’s ok.
We finally made it through – without cheating -
meaning that we didn’t use our cell-phones for light.
And – lived to tell the tale.
On Saturday – we broke the piggy bank & spent on a third vehicle.
It was a deal that we just couldn’t pass up.
I would have preferred waiting a bit longer.
But – if we did -
we probably would not have gotten so lucky with a find like this.
Since the boy has his driver’s permit
that will soon convert into a license – EEK -
we thought a third vehicle would come in handy.
Of course – we bought this used car as ours & not the boy’s.
It’s his to borrow as needed
with good grades & good behavior – of course!
And – although – he’s been a good kid
& hasn’t given us any problems (yet) -
There’s no way we’re gonna’ give the – “Well – it’s my car” quote
a flying opportunity to come out of his teenage mouth
Later that day – the girls & I went to visit my favorite senior citizens.
Momma’ made us tacos – YUMMO!
Apá – just shook his head when he walked into the room.
He calims we only go there to eat – LOL
Well – we kinda’ do.
Anywho – I found out a lot about my dad – he was quite chatty despite us eating him out of house & home.
Even – after finding out that he came to the US with only $35 that didn’t last too long – I didn’t feel guily about eating all of those tacos.
Does that make me a bad daughter?
Yesterday was hockey day.
It was the girls’ first game of the season & Victoria’s first game ever.
Their team did well & played hard.
But – the other team did better.
Final score 5-0.
Oh well…maye next time.
So – how was your weekend & what did you do?
