Yesterday was a long day to an end of an emotional week.
Eleven years ago yesterday -
my family & I paid our final respects to my brother – Roy.
No matter how many years keep passing by -
the week of his passing – is always rough.
Also – yesterday I attended a memorial service of a friend’s daughter who passed away on the 19th.
She lost her battle against cancer.
She was 43.
This post is in memory of my friend’s daughter – Jessie.
It is something sad & touching that I observed while at the memorial service.
Written from the perspective of Jessie’s older son.
Sitting on a couch at the funeral parlor
Staring at nothing
Wishing this was all a bad dream
Little brother taps me on my shoulder
And asks me if I’m ok
I shake my head yes
He hugs me
Then runs outside to play
